The adverbs indicating time

An adverb is used to modify the adjective or verb as an adverbial adjunct, it should be put before them. Verbs or even nouns ending with character "地" de and functioning as adverbs remain to be regarded as adjectives.

A part of adverbs can indicate time, such as "刚才" gāngcái , "刚刚" gānggāng , "已经" yǐjīng , "早" zǎo , "就" jiù , "正在" zhèngzài , "马上" mǎshàng , "一直" yìzhí , "老是" lǎoshì , and so on.
(1) 他已经 走了。
(2) 他就吃完饭了。
(3) 我一直 没有说话。
(4) 我从来 没有怀疑过他。
(5) 我永远 不会忘记那个人。

The continuous action

An action may undergo different stages. It may be in progress or may have completed. An adverb("正" zhèng, "正在" zhèngzài or "在" zài) can be put before the verb to show that action is going on.
