一点儿 vs. 一些

一点儿 vs. 一些
yīdiǎn'ér vs. yīxiē

Both two words mean “a small quantity” and can be applied to concrete as well as abstract things. 一些 is more than 一点儿. They can be used before nouns or after adjectives and verbs. 一些 is more literary. 一can be omitted in both words. Both two words can be used in front of a noun as an attributive; they can also be used after a verb as the object and indicate a small range when used after an adjective as the complement.
(1) 他吃完饭以后又吃了 一点儿一些)水果。
(2)他还剩了 一点儿一些)作业没完成。
(3) 看完那封信以后他感到有 一些一点儿)难过。
(4) 我不小心把水弄洒了 一点儿( 一些)。
(5) 你快 点儿)吃饭,吃完给他打个电话。
(6) 麻烦你把电视声音关小 一些一点儿
(7) 走了这么远的路,他有 点儿(有 )累了。

一点儿 can be reduplicated into 一点(儿)点(儿)to show an even smaller quantity; 一些 cannot be reduplicated.

两个词都表示少量、些微,可用于具体、抽象的事物。“一些”所表示的数量比“一点儿”要多。也可用于名词前,形容词、动词后。“一些”比较书面化。两个词的“一”都可以省略。两个词可用在名词前做定语,也可用在动词后做补语,表示动作幅度小,还可以用在形容词后面表示比较。
“一点儿”可重叠为“一点(儿)点(儿)”,表示数量更小;“一些”则不能重叠使用。
