不错 vs. 好

不错 vs.
búcuò vs. hǎo

1. 不错 and 好 both mean "satisfactory; meritorious".
(1) 他身体一向不错(很)。
(2) 这是一个不错)的办法。
(3) 这件事干的不错)。

In the three sentences above, 不错 and 好 are interchangeable. When used as the predicate, 好 often takes on 很 (with its force lost); otherwise it implies the sense of comparison.

好极了 means "most satisfactory", while 不错 can never be used with 极了.
(4) 这幅画画的极了(不错)。

2. Both words can mean "healthy, friendly, intimate", etc.
(1) 他身体不错(很)。
(2) 他们俩的关系不错(很)。
(3) 我们是不错的朋友(朋友)。

好 is sometimes used to describe those who fall in love with each other.
(4) 那个男生和那个女生上了。

3. Sometimes these two words have a totally incompatible meaning. 好 as an attributive means "praise or commend".
(1) “兄弟,我会永远记住你的。”
(2) 他是一个学生。
(3) 日子已经到头了。

好 in the three examples above means "the highest praise"; one cannot say 比较好, 好一点儿, etc. Therefore, 不错 cannot be used in either of the above examples.

好 has many other meanings, e.g., indicating the recovery from illness (病了); something easy to do (做); something having been done as complement (写了、整理了); high degree (used before the predicate): 厉害、可怕; to agree: 好, 我同意. In all these, 不错 cannot be used.

不错 sometimes is 不 + 错 meaning correct (cannot be an attributive). 好 cannot be used in this way.

(5) 你说的一点也不错

1.“不错”和“好”都可表示使人满意的、优点多的。
这几句中两词虽然可以互换,但是“好”作谓语时常与“很”连用(意义已淡化),否则有比较的意思。
“好极了”表示非常使人满意等,“不错”不能加“极了”。
2.两个词都可表示健康、友好、亲密等。
表示亲密、相爱时,常用“好”。
3.有时这两个词的词义完全是不相容的。“好”做定语表示赞美、感情上的赞誉。
这种“好”都是最高赞美,没有程度之分,不能有“比较好、好一点儿”等,因此排斥“不错”。以上三例都不能用“不错”。
“好”还有多种意义,如表示痊愈(病好了);表示容易(好做);表示完成(补语:“写好了”、“整理好了”);表示程度深(用在谓语前:“好厉害”、“好可怕”);表示应允(“好,我同意”)等。这些都不能用“不错”。
“不错”有时是“不”+“错”,表示正确(不作定语);“好”则不能这样用。
