亚细亚洲的简称。位于东半球的东北部。东临太平洋，南临印度洋，北临北冰洋。西北与欧洲相接，西南与非洲相邻；东北隔白令海峡与北美洲相望；东南以帝汶岛和澳大利亚之间的海面与大洋洲为界。是世界上面积最大、人口最多的洲(亚细亚：英语Asia音译)。
