气愤, 生气 and 发火

“气愤”是形容词,“生气”和“发火”都是动宾词组。这三个词语都表示愤怒,“气愤”、“生气”有时不一定表现出来儿“发火”一般都会表现出来。
气愤 is an adjective while 生气 and 发火 are verb-object phrases. All three indicate indignation. 气愤 and 生气 may not be outwardly expressed, but 发火 is usually revealed.
(1)因为受到了欺骗,他气愤极了。
“气愤”可带“极了”等补语,其他两个词一般不这样用。另外,“气愤”和“生气”可加状语,有时可互换。
气愤 can take 极了 as its complement, but the other two phrases cannot be so used. Besides, 气愤 and 生气 can take an adverbial and the two are sometimes interchangeable.
(2)没有得到应得的奖赏,他很生气(气愤)。
“发火”的词义是最强的。
发火 is the most intense of the three.
(3)他的行为惹得对方发火了。
