"后来"与"以后"意思相近，但有区别：1。"以后"可单用，也可作后置成分，构成表时间的方位词组，如"解放以后"；"后来"只能单用，不能作后置成分。2。"以后"可以指过去的时间，也可以指将来的时间；"后来"只能指过去的时间，如只能说"以后你要努力"，而不能说"后来你要努力"。"他先来，我后来"中的"后来"，是"后到"的意思，是动词词组，不是时间名词。
