1. Both 喉咙 and 嗓子 are common names for pharynx and throat. The latter is colloquial while the former is more literary. Sometimes, the two words are interchangeable.

2. 嗓子 also means "voice"; 喉咙, used in some fixed phrases can mean the same thing.
