妇女, 妇人 and 女人
fùnǚ, fùrén and nǚrén
The three words all refer to women. 女人 is a general term for women, and sometimes it refers to wife (but without respect). 妇女 means “grown women” and is rather formal, often as a collective address. 妇人 can also refer to “grown women,” but is old-fashioned.
(1) 妇女应该拥有和男人一样平等的权利。
(2) 在那个年代，妇女和儿童都拿起枪来反抗侵略者，已经不是什么新鲜事了。
In the two examples above, 妇女 is used because it is formal and is a collective noun. The other two words are not used.
(3) 女人因为可爱而美丽。
(4) 她是你女人？
In example (3), 女人means “wife” (lacking in respect), where 爱人 or 妻子 can also be used.)
妇人 is out-of-date and rarely used.
这三个名词都指女性。“女人”泛指女性，有时特指妻子（但不含敬意）。“妇女”指成年女性，较正式，多为集体性称呼。“妇人”也指成年女性，词义较旧。
以上两句应该用“妇女”，因为词义较正式，而且是一个集合名词，不应该用其他两个词。
例（3）泛指女性，用“女人”。例（4）用女人指代妻子（但缺少敬意，一般还可说“爱人”、“妻子”等）。
“妇人”词义较旧，现在已经较少使用。
