指引 vs. 引导
zhǐyǐn vs. yǐndǎo
Both 指引 and 引导 means “to point the way or to guide.” 指引 stresses the sense of giving directions and 引导 means “to take sb. along to so sth. by enlightening and guiding.”
(1) 他的著作指引（引导）着我们的研究方向。
(2) 当地一位好心人引导（指引）我们走出了这片森林。
In the following examples, only 引导 can be used.
(3) 政府应该积极合理引导外资投向，不断提高对外开放的水平和利用外资质量。
(4) 各种评奖可以对影视剧的内容起到积极的引导作用。
(5) 老师要善于引导学生进行独立思考。
“指引”和“引导”都有指出方向并带领千金的意思。但“指引”着重于指点，使用的范围仅限于指示道路、方向、路线等；而“引导”还可以表示带着某人做某事，并有启发、诱导的意思。 在以下各例中，只能用“引导”。
