  1. 1. verb After someone's death in olden times, every seven days people burned paper or held rites to offer sacrifice to the dead. When this had been done seven times, it came to an end, and was therefore called "断七".
    断七这天我们烧纸祭奠亡灵。
    Seven weeks after their death, we hold a memorial ceremony for the dead.
