The Story: We can find this idiom in Cao Xueqin's A Dream of Red Mansions: Jia Zheng is very angry and afraid, so he calls his son, Bao Yu to come out immediately, which he does. Jia asks, "You damn lackey do not study well at home. This man is a government official who works for the prince. What kind of person is this? You lured him to come out without any reason, and at the same time you have also endangered me. How can you have no shame and defy all laws?" Jia's anger at his son who did not feel any obligation to preserve the law represents the idiom, which stands as a criticism of a shameless man who defies laws.
