有意 and 存心
yǒuyì and cúnxīn
1. Both 有意 and 存心 mean "deliberately," but 存心 has a severe connotation and sometimes can carry a derogatory meaning. When used as an adverbial they are interchangeable, but with different degrees of severity.
(1) 我有意（存心）要为难一下他。
(2) 我不是存心（有意）弄坏你东西的。
(3) 你是不是存心（有意）跟我过不去啊？
(4) 别怪他，他是不是存心（有意）的。
2. 有意 also means “to intend to do something”; 存心 has no such meaning.
(1) 他有意要收这个孩子为徒，于是决定考验一下他。
(2) 我有意去一趟广州。
(3) 我有意把它送给你。
有意 can be used in the pattern of 是……的；存心 is not so used.
(4) 你发那么大火干什么？他又不是有意的。
1.“有意”和“存心”都有故意的意思，但“存心”的语意更重些，有时微含贬义。在句中做状语，两个词可互换使用，但语气轻重不同。
2.“有意”还有打算做某事的意思，“存心”没有这种意思。
“有意”可用于“是……的”结构，“存心”一般不这样用。
