méiyǒu and yǒu

1. A sentence with the predicate made up of "有" sentence. Such a sentence indicates possession. Its negative form is construed by putting the adverb "没", but not "不", before "有".
(1) 我有自行车。
(2) 他没有孩子。
(3) 他没有手机。

2. "有" or its negative form "没有" can be used in a comparison to show the level attained or not yet attained. This kind of comparison is often used in an interrogative sentence and in the negative form.
(1) 你有他强壮吗？
(2) 那头大象有两个人那么高。
(3) 他没有那么坏。
(4) 我没有他跳得高。
