答应 vs. 回答 dāying vs. huídá
1. 答应 means to respond to somebody with short sentences; it can also mean “to agree or to promise.” (1) 我喊了你半天你都没答应。 (2) 我答应他明天去看他。
2. 回答 means “to answer a question or request” and can also mean “to respond.” In example (1), 回答 can be used instead, but not in example (2). Another example is: (1) 他耐心地回答了记者的提问。
回答 can be used as the subject or the object of a sentence. (2) 他的回答让我感到很尴尬。 (3) 他对这个问题做出了精彩的回答。
In all the examples above, 答应 cannot be substituted for 回答.
When somebody is NOT able to give an answer, we say 回答不上来, 没回答出来, or 回答不出来; 答应 cannot be used.
1. “答应”表示使用简短的语言表明听见了别人的互换,也可表示同意,应允。 2. “回答”表示对提出的问题,要求等给以解释,回复,有时也可表示简单应答互换。例(1)可换用 “ 回答。”例 (2) 则不能。例如: “回答”可作主语, 宾语。 以上三例都不能用 “答应。” 对问题等不能够做出回答或回答得好, 可用 “回答不上来,” “没回答出来,” “回答不出来,” 这时也不能用 “答应。”
