缺乏 and 缺少 quēfá and quēshǎo
1. The verbs 缺乏 and 缺少 both mean “to lack or to be short of something which one ought to have.” When It is not clear whether it is a complete lack or not enough, either word will do. (1) 他虽然是个孤儿,但是他从来不缺少(缺乏)关爱。 (2) 你什么都不缺,就是缺少(缺乏)教育。 (3) 这个问题始终得不到解决,主要是一位缺少(缺乏)关注。 (4) 他做事缺少(缺乏)恒心。
2. When it is necessary to indicate definitely the lack of something or the definite quantity which is short of, only 缺少 can be used. (1) 我这里缺少一个零件。 (2) 你房子里还缺少一张沙发。
3. 缺乏 can function as the predicate without an object, but 缺少 cannot.
(1) 在爷爷那个年代,物质很缺乏。
1. 动词“缺乏”和“缺少”都可表示某事物应该有或需要有,而实际上没有。 当不明显表示为有而不足,或是完全没有时,二者均可使用。 2. 当要明确表示某具体事物应该有而没有或用具体数字表示所缺数量的时候,只能用“缺少”。 3. “缺乏”还可不带宾语,单独做谓语,“缺少”不能这样用。
