会 vs. 能
huì vs. néng
1. Both words are auxiliary verbs and interchangeable in many cases.
1) To master(knowledge, skill, etc.) through learning, 会 is used.
(1) 他很小的时候就会游泳了。
(2) 我不会开车。
(3) 你会做这道题吗？
2) To have the ability to do sth. or to acquire certain efficiency, 能 is used.
(4) 你能帮我提一下这个包吗?
(5) 我恐怕不能参加这次的聚会了。
(6) 一次盛这么多饭，你能吃完吗？
3) To show great probability, 会 is used.
(7) 他也许不会来了。
(8) 明天会不会下雪？
(9) 你只要努力，就会取得好成绩。
2. 会 is also a verb meaning “to master, to know （knowledge, skill, etc.）.”
(1) 他会日语。
1.两个词都是助动词，有时可互换。
1) 通过学习而掌握、熟悉（知识、技能等）多用“会”。
2) 表示有能力有条件做某事，或达到一定标准，用“能”。
3) 表示客观上有可能实现，可能性很大，用“会”。
2.“会”也是动词，表示掌握、通宵（知识、技能等）。
