认得 vs. 认识

1.动词“认得”和“认识”都有能确定或分辨某人、某事物是这个而不是别的的意思
The verbs 认得 and 认识 both mean “to know or to be able to recognize.”
（1）我根本就不认识（认得）他。
（2）你认得（认识）这个单词吗？

2.动词“认识”还有“了解”、“懂得”的意思。这里，“认识”一般要经过观察、概括、分析、判断等过程，因此不能用“认得”替代。
The verb 认识 also means “to understand.” Here 认识 is to know through a process of observation, generalization, analysis and judgment and cannot be replaced by 认得.
（1）他充分认识到了自身的不足。
（2）我们正是在不断的实践中认识世界，改造世界。

3.名词“认识”，指客观现实在头脑中的反映，是一种思维活动的结果。而认识没有这个意思。
The noun 认识 means “the reflection of the objective reality in the human brain, which is the result of thinking.” 认识 has no such usage.

（2）他对这类事物有着深刻的认识。
